CLAREMORE, OKLAHOMA - The Cherokee Nation Marshal Service now has stuffed animals to give to children, thanks to the hard work and dedication of two young men in the Claremore area.

Claremore High School students Brandon Busher and Thomas Spears collected the stuffed animals as part of a community service project for the National Honor Society. The two boys then contacted the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service about their idea to donate the stuffed animals to the Marshal Service to have to give to children who need comfort in unpleasant situations.
"It really helps the victims, especially the children", said Frankie Dreadfulwater, lieutenant with the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service. "It tells the person that you really care about them and their situation."
The Cherokee Nation Marshal Service often receives stuffed animal donations, but says that they can always use more.
"The officers enjoy giving out gifts when we can", Dreadfulwater said. "It seems to calm the children down a little. We’re very glad to have them."
To donate stuffed animals to the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service, contact L.D. Drywater, phone: 918-456-0671 (ext.2828).
