"We’ve gone over personal budgeting, decision making, business skills and trades, and investments and savings", said Lahoma Simon, workshop instructor.
The youth entrepreneurial workshop was designed to get youth thinking about the possibility of owning their own business, but also addressed financial issues that everyone needs to know.
"We discussed money and planning and the difference in needs and wants", said Kristen Dixon, 15, who came from Pryor to attend the workshop.
"I really like it", said Kimberly Politte, 13 of Chelsea. "It’s really educational. It gave me a lot of information to get started with when I get out of college."
Cherokee Nation will host another youth entrepreneurial workshop from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on July 13 in Tahlequah for youth between the ages of 14 and 21.
