BARTLESVILLE, OKLAHOMA – Cherokee Nation voters living in Washington County are invited to attend a public meeting addressing election law reform on Thursday, July 8, at 7 p.m. at the Dewey VFW, located at 310 Don Tyler Avenue in Dewey, Okla. All voters are invited to offer input and ideas on the reform of the Cherokee Nation election law. “This is a chance for all citizens to bring their suggestions about how Cherokee Nation elections should be run,” said Chad Smith, Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation. “The Cherokee Nation Tribal Council is hosting these meetings to gather information before making changes, if any, to the current election law.”Bill Johnson and Buel Anglen, who represent Washington County on the Cherokee Nation Tribal Council, will host the Washington County meeting. Refreshments will be served.
