SHS Announces Spring Honor Roll

TAHLEQUAH, OKLAHOMA – In the spring semester, 104 students from Sequoyah High School made the Superintendent’s and Principal’s Honor Rolls.

“This is really an outstanding group of students,” said Gina Stanley, Sequoyah High School superintendent. “I am very proud of them and what they have been able to accomplish. They definitely have bright futures ahead of them.”

The students who made the Superintendent’s Honor Roll, earning a 4.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale were Bryan Allen, Nathaniel Barnoskie, Kellie Brown, Norma Carey, Christopher (Jacob) Chanate, Robert Conrad, Hannah Cornell, Morning Dawn Craig, Todd Crow, Rachelle Dellinger, Ryan Doyeto, Krystal Goodrich, Zachary Goodrich, Tucson Grigg, Sonny Hawk, Julie Hensley, Michael Holcomb, Solomon Horsechief, Nancy James, Sandy James, Samuel Jones, James Keys, Kimberly King, Amanda Little, Misty Mankiller, Darcy Medicine Horse, Luis Navarro, Diana Onco, Jonathan Pallie, Kellen Quinton, Robert Record, Laren Richards, Terry Scott, Randi Sequichie, Christopher Smith, Derrick Stanley, Rhiannon Tafoya, Jon Teehee, Eva Thomas, Johnnie Wesley, and Ashley Wilson.

Sequoyah High School, an Indian boarding school, originated in 1871, when the Cherokee National Council passed an act setting up an orphan asylum to take care
of many orphans that came out of the Civil War.

Sequoyah High School's approximate 300 enrollment represents 42 tribes and 14 different states. Students are eligible to attend if they are members of federally recognized Indian tribes or one-fourth blood
descendants of such members.
