TAHLEQUAH, OKLAHOMA - Cherokee Nation citizens who are residents of the Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation (HACN) in Stilwell and Jay may qualify for assistance with career training from the Cherokee Nation.

"Our goal is to help our residents be employable in the current job market," said Karen Harmon, program coordinator. "Some residents need training to find a job or to advance in their current career."

The Cherokee Nation Resident Opportunity and Self Sufficiency (R.O.S.S) program can assist with tuition cost of short-term college or vocational training, costs associated with obtaining state certifications or licensure and transportation costs while attending the training.

To be eligible, applicants must be residents of HACN in Jay or Stilwell. HACN residents are defined as those who participate in the low rent (direct housing) program, mutual help, rural rental, lease purchase, mortgage assistance program, or mortgage buy down programs.
