TAHLEQUAH, OKLAHOMA - The 9th annual Cherokee National Holiday Bass Tournament will be held on Saturday, August 21 at Lake Tenkiller.
The open bass tournament requires an entry fee of $125 per boat and guarantees a first place prize of $1,000. Plaques will be given for first through fourth place finishers. Festivities will take place on Lake Tenkiller at the Chicken Creek south boat ramp, which is located 12 miles south of Tahlequah, Okla. on Highway 82.
Fishing begins at 6 a.m. and weigh-in will be at 3 p.m. The tournament also includes a free meal at weigh in, door prizes and 50/50 drawings.
This year’s Cherokee National Holiday begins September 3 and runs through September 5. The Cherokee National Holiday has been held since 1953 in commemoration of the signing of the 1839 Cherokee Constitution. It has grown into one of the largest events in Oklahoma, attracting more than 90,000 people from across the world.
