WEST SILOAM SPRINGS, OKLAHOMA - Cherokee Casino in West Siloam Springs wants to make sure no one goes hungry as the weather cools and holidays approach. The casino is sponsoring a canned food drive for the Westville Food Pantry.The Food Pantry assists needy families in their local community. If you would like to help, bring your canned food items to the Cherokee Casino in West Siloam Springs, located at the junction of U.S. Highway 412 and OK Highway 59. Donations will be accepted from Nov. 1 - 17.
A registration ticket will given for every can of food brought in, and a drawing will be held on Monday, Nov. 17 at 8 p.m. Five names will be drawn and each winner will receive $100. Items may be dropped off at any time, 24 hours a day. For more information call the Player's Club at (918) 422-5100.
Cherokee Casino is operated by Cherokee Nation Enterprises (CNE), a tribally owned corporation of the Cherokee Nation. CNE's income is paid to the Cherokee Nation in the form of a dividend. In the past year, CNE has paid more than $9 million in dividends to the Cherokee Nation. That money is used to help fund tribal health, education and housing programs.
CNE operates the Cherokee Casinos, Cherokee Outpost Convenience stores, Cherokee retail tobacco shops, the Cherokee Gift Shop and the Cherokee Hills golf course in Catoosa. CNE employs more than 1,000 people throughout northeastern Oklahoma. The Cherokee Casino in West Siloam Springs employs 215 people.
