SALLISAW, OKLAHOMA - Sequoyah County residents are invited to safely dump their household pollutants at the annual Sequoyah County Household Pollutant Collection Event on Saturday, November 8, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Sallisaw Rodeo Grounds.The Cherokee Nation, City of Sallisaw, Sequoyah County Commissioners, and the United States Environmental Protection Agency Tribal Hazardous Waste Office are sponsoring the collection event The collection event is free to area residents. All household hazardous waste products must be from Sequoyah County households. Pollutants that will be accepted are motor oil, antifreeze, brake fluids, oil-based paints, pesticides, weed killers, yard-care products, poisons, batteries, household cleaners, drain openers, gasoline, solvents, thinners, mercury, fluorescent bulbs, glues, computers and televisions. All products will be recycled and disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.
