JAY, OKLAHOMA - The Cherokee Nation is sponsoring an outreach meeting for area farmers, landowners, tenants, and interested people at the Jay Community Center, October 21 at 5:00 p.m."We will be discussing farm loans and records, as well as, programs available by a number of government agencies", said Steve Swogger, agriculture liaison with the Cherokee Nation.
This meeting will begin with a free chicken dinner and is worth 1.5 hours of continuing education credit for poultry producers.
John Littlefield with the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture (ODA) and Carolin Blecha with the USDA/FSA-Farm Loans and Records are just two of the presenters who are scheduled to speak at the meeting. Representatives from ODA Forestry Division and the Cherokee Nation will be on hand to answer questions.
