"They were amazed and asked a lot of questions", said Norma Harvey, public education coordinator for the Cherokee Nation Head Start. "The students also got to see inside the police car."
Cherokee Nation Head Start student, Sage Locust, volunteered to help with the demonstration by sitting in the car seat while officers explained the importance of wearing seat belts and using car sets. The officers also showed Locust’s mother how to properly install a car seat.
