The performances were held April 24, in the Cherokee Nation Early Childhood Unit conference room. The first performance was held for the children of the Early Head Start, the second for Head Start children, and the third for children of the Cherokee Nation Child Development Center.
"We hope the children enjoyed this little production of "Stone Soup", said Carla Harfield, education specialist who narrated the performance. "I know that our staff enjoyed doing this production for them, and we had a lot of fun."
This was the third production that the staff performed for the children this school year. Parents and guardians received a form to fill out to indicate if their child discussed the play with them and if the children enjoyed it.
All of the children received a copy of the book "Stone Soup" as part of a grant funded by Reading is Fundamental (RIF) Inc. and the Coca-Cola Corporation.
