Children Incorporated the contest theme, "Don’t let your smile become extinct" into their artwork.
"This is a great way for the local children to become aware of their own dental health, while doing something fun,” said Sandra Ferguson, dental hygienist at the Wilma P. Mankiller Health Center. "Every year we get more and more student participation, which is wonderful."
Six out of the twelve schools in Adair County participated in this year’s event. 124 children participated overall.
The top two winners of this years contest were Clarissa Prigmore and Jarron Catron, both of Maryetta School in Stilwell, Oklahoma.
A special prize was awarded to each winner and all participants received a certificate of appreciation for their participation, as well as a bag of "goodies".
The artwork of the winners was displayed at the Wilma P. Mankiller Health Center in Stilwell.
