TAHLEQUAH, OKLAHOMA - Sequoyah High School has planned a victory celebration for the boy’s basketball team’s recent win in the class 3A state tournament.

The celebration will be held on March 25 and will begin at 1:35 p.m. with a pep assembly in the Sequoyah High School gymnasium. The pep assembly will be followed by a victory parade through downtown Tahlequah to the Cherokee Nation Court House where the basketball team will unveil the state championship trophy and address the crowd. Festivities will continue at 5:00 with dinner served at the Cherokee Nation Cultural Grounds followed by a victory pow wow lead by Jake Chanate, master of ceremonies, Pat Oyebi, head singer, Joseph Byrd, head man dancer, and Kryste Benge, head lady dancer.
