TAHLEQUAH, OKLAHOMA - The 51st Cherokee National Holiday is seeking arts & crafts and concession vendors for the annual Holiday held in Tahlequah, Oklahoma over Labor Day weekend, August 29 through 31.The theme for this year’s celebration is "Cherokee Communities: the Strength of our Nation." The annual Holiday commemorates the anniversary of the signing of the Cherokee Nation Constitution in 1839.
"Besides the many activities already planned, this year we’ve added a performance by the Cherokee Nation Youth Choir on Sunday afternoon, August 31 followed by a concert featuring the Smilin Vic Band", said Louie Slagle, director of the Cherokee National Holiday.
"There’s a real push to find enough concession vendors. We have activities at the Cherokee Nation Tribal Complex, the Cherokee Nation Capitol Square, the powwow grounds and the ball fields", Slagle said.
If you are interested in being an arts & crafts or concession vendor, please contact Louie Slagle, phone: 918-456-0671 (ext.2544).
