TAHLEQUAH, OKLAHOMA - The Cherokee National Holiday morning worship will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, August 31, at the Sequoyah High School Chapel.Speakers will be Reverend Jim Foreman of Tahlequah, Okla. and Reverend Jimmy Carey of Hulbert, Okla. Reverend Carey will preach in the Cherokee language.
"We would like to extend an invitation to everyone to come and enjoy a traditional morning worship service with us", said Janie Carey, event coordinator for the Cherokee National Holiday. "Following the worship service a free dinner will be provided at the Sequoyah High School cafeteria."

This year’s Holiday begins August 29 and runs through August 31. The theme for this year’s celebration is "Cherokee Communities: the strength of our Nation." The annual Holiday commemorates the anniversary of the signing of the Cherokee Nation Constitution in 1839.
