TAHLEQUAH, OK - The Cherokee Nation will host a Health, Safety, Nutrition and Fitness Fair beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 24, at the Cherokee Cultural Grounds located behind the Crosswinds Golf Course.
The fair is held to provide information to Cherokee Nation Head Start/Early Head Start staff and students, to teach them about different health, safety, nutrition and fitness issues.
Several Cherokee Nation programs are set to participate in the fair, including: Cherokee Nation WIC program, Healthy Nation, Marshal Service, Risk Management, EMS program, Early Childhood Unit, Jack Brown Center, and Community Development.
Other participants include the Oklahoma Highway Patrol; D.A.R.E.; Tahlequah Fire Department; W.W. Hastings Hospital; Oklahoma Lake Patrol; Forestry Division and Smokey the Bear; Vince and Larry (The Crash Test Dummies); and Scrubby Bear to visit with children.
The Cherokee Nation invites the public to attend the fair.
