The Cherokee Nation Early Childhood Unit Shady Grove Head Start class, along with their teachers, parents and grandparents, posed for a picture during their field trip to the Tahlequah Fire Department Sept. 5, 2002.

The children watched a film on fire safety, learned about hot and cold, learned how to stop, drop and roll, and they also learned not be afraid of a firefighter dressed up in his fire suit and other equipment.

Nora Justice, Head Start teacher, volunteered to put on a fire suit and all the equipment that goes with the suit-oxygen mask, helmet, etc.
