TAHLEQUAH, OK - The Cherokee Nation recently held the annual Little Miss and Mister Cherokee pageant in the Cherokee Nation Tribal Council Chambers as part of the 50th annual Cherokee National Holiday activities.

The winners for ages 4 to 5 years old were Deonna Bolin of Sallisaw and Tomahawk Grimmett of Stilwell. First runners-up were Megan E. Baker of Locust Grove and Dalton Linville of Tahlequah. Second runners-up were Morgan Tarrance of Welling and Cameron Kingfisher of Moody.
The winners for ages 6 to 7 years old were Wren Langworthy of Westville and Dakota Mellowbug-Vann of Oaks. First runners-up were Shandah Kingfisher of Tahlequah and Elijah Tucker of Tahlequah. Second runners-up were Sylver Price Collins of Stilwell and Nickalas Kingfisher of Tahlequah.
The winners for ages 8 to 9 years old were Taylor Goff of Sallisaw and Kaleb Kingfisher of Moody. First runners-up were Rebecca Osburn of Tahlequah and Trey Noe of Twin Oaks. Second runner-up for Little Miss Cherokee was Shaunteel Mathis of Hulbert.
The winners for ages 10 to 12 years old were Feather Smith and Skylar Terrapin. First runners-up were Johnna Glass of Kansas and Todd Tucker of Tahlequah. Second runner-up for Little Miss Cherokee was Samra Vann of Oaks.
Contestants were judged on poise, personality, Cherokee history, and traditional attire. All Little Miss and Mister Cherokee contest winners received a sash, trophy and t-shirt. All runners-up received a trophy and a t-shirt.
