STILWELL, OK - Cherokee Nation Industries (CNI) has hired a new President and Chief Executive Officer. Jim Majewski, who started with CNI in late August, has more than 20 years experience in the defense, telecommunication and manufacturing industries, which make up the core of CNI's business. "Jim Majewski brings the leadership skills and experience that CNI needs to continue to grow," said Jim Carson, Chairman of CNI's board of directors. "His knowledge of our industries made him a good fit for CNI."

Majewski joins CNI after serving as a consultant to a technology-intensive investment group in Ohio. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Operations at Tracewell Power, an Ohio based electronic power supply manufacturer, which primarily serviced the telecommunications industry.

Majewski also previously served as the President/CEO of Ocean Technology, a California-based manufacturer of military electronic products, and he has a strong background in the defense, telecommunication and manufacturing industries.

"When I talk to the companies CNI works with, they always tell me they are impressed with the quality of work CNI produces," Majewski said.

Majewski praised CNI's employees for building a quality company and the reception he has received.

"I just got a good feeling from the time I interviewed here," Majewski said. "I think this part of Oklahoma is a great place to live and work."

Cherokee Nation Industries, Inc., a tribally owned corporation of the Cherokee Nation headquartered in Stilwell, Oklahoma, is comprised of distribution, medical services, telecommunications and environmental divisions and a cable and wire harness manufacturing facility. CNI was incorporated in 1969 to serve as the economic and workforce development arm for the Cherokee Nation. The company has more than 350 employees worldwide and more than 30 years contracting and distribution experience in the aerospace, defense and telecommunication industries.
