Ballet Folklorico ‘Quetzalli’ de Veracruz

Tahlequah, OK - On Saturday, September 28 at 8 p.m. the Cherokee Heritage Center will present Ballet Folklorico "Quetzalli" de Veracruz at the Tsa La Gi Amphitheater. Tickets are $10 for adults, $9 for seniors and $5 for children and students. With a company of 12 vibrant dancers and four to six talented musicians, "Quetzalli" presents a visual fiesta of old Mexico. Showcasing their own culture and folklore, the veteran group performs regional dances of Mexico that feature their home state of Veracruz (birthplace of the famous "La Bamba").

The music, played live on authentic stringed instruments punctuates the meticulous movement, radiant clothing and precise rhythm established by the dancers. Since their formation in 1985, "Quetzalli" has crisscrossed the globe, exciting audiences of young and old. With standing ovations from Cuba to Malaysia, "Quetzalli" proves they are one of Mexico's most popular exports.
