Tahlequah, OK - Proving that Beatlemania is still alive, four American musicians tour the world in a group known as "Yesterday - A Tribute to the Beatles."
"Yesterday," named after one of the Beatles' hit songs, will be delighting Beatles lovers in Tahlequah, Oklahoma on Saturday, September 7 at the Cherokee Heritage Center. The concert is sponsored by the Oklahoma Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.
This tribute to the Beatles is sure to sweep a nostalgic feeling over the audience as they play two hours of the 1964 - 1970 Beatles hits such as, "A Hard Day's Night," "Come Together," "Help," and "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds." The performance, which features over 50 Beatles songs, includes several costume changes and historical references to key events in Beatle history.
These four talented men, Dick Cunico, Monte Mann, Davey Justice, and Don Bellezzo, will fascinate audiences with their musical abilities, mop-top hair, and whimsical stage mannerisms.
Cunico, who portrays Ringo Star, is originally from Colorado Springs and has performed in several musical reviews in his far-reaching career. Cunico plays drums and sings vocals for "Yesterday." He also composes and arranges the symphony orchestrations for the group.
Mann is the lead guitarist and vocalist for "Yesterday." He brings his musical ability to the stage as George Harrison.
On bass guitar and lead vocals, Justice portrays Paul McCartney. Justice has taken his character all over the world.
John Lennon is portrayed by Bellezzo. The founder of "Yesterday" plays rhythm guitar and is a lead vocalist. He has portrayed Lennon to audiences around the world.
"Yesterday" has brought the Beatles back to mind for some and introduced them to others. They have performed with several world-renowned orchestras and been featured in movies such as "Beverly Hillbilly's," "This Thing Called Love," "Brain Teaser," and "When a Man Loves a Woman."
They have shared their musical abilities with audiences in Japan, China, India, Canada, and England. Now they are coming to the Tsa La Gi Amphitheater at the Cherokee Heritage Center to share Beatles history and music with Tahlequah.
