TAHLEQUAH, OKLAHOMA - The Cherokee Nation is sponsoring a goat vegetation management workshop October 9 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Cherokee Nation Cultural Grounds in Tahlequah.This meeting will begin with free coffee and donuts followed by a presentation on goat management, goat health and control of vegetation with goats. Attendees will also receive a tour of the goat management testing area followed by a free lunch of goat burgers.
The workshop is sponsored by the Cherokee Nation Natural Resources Department and Langston University. The two entities have been studying the use of goats to control weeds for a year. This workshop will wrap up the first year of study and share some of the results of their research.
