TAHLEQUAH, OK - The Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation (HACN) will be hosting two vendor fairs for interested Native American contractors, sub-contractors and suppliers.

"The Housing Authority is actively recruiting Native American contractors, sub-Contractors and suppliers to work within each of the 14 counties," said Ron Qualls, HACN executive director.

The HACN Area 2 Office, serving Adair County, will host a vendor fair from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, November 20, at the Stilwell High School Cafeteria, located west on Highway 100, at 1801 West Locust, in Stilwell.

The HACN Area 7 Office, serving Tulsa and Washington Counties, will host a vendor fair from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, November 21, at the Owasso Community Center, located behind the Old Fire Station on 76th Street North, at 301 South Cedar, in Owasso.

The Vendor Fairs will include proposed work items for the Area Offices' respective counties for 2002-2003, Indian Preference, Section 3 Preference, vendor registration with HACN and bidding procedures.

"Current projections for housing construction activities clearly show a need to identify additional contractors, and we are hoping to achieve this through these Vendor Fairs," Qualls said.
