TAHLEQUAH, OK - The Cherokee Heritage Center will host the Third Annual Cherokee Chase on Saturday, June 8. The Cherokee Chase is a competitive run that is open to all ages.Registration for the Cherokee Chase will begin at 6:30 a.m. and the race will begin at 8 a.m. Registration fee is $10 or $15 with a t-shirt if you register before May 31. After May 31, the fee is $14 or $17 with a t-shirt.
"I am expecting at least 150 runners," said Kate Kelly, director of community relations for the Cherokee Heritage Center. "The second year was bigger than the first and I expect the trend to continue."
The Cherokee Chase is a USA Track and Field sanctioned course and certified race. Participants can choose to compete in the 2km, 5km or the 10km. The Cherokee Heritage Center will award medals to the top three finishers in each division and trophies for the overall fastest times at an awards ceremony immediately following the race.
