LOCUST GROVE - The Cherokee Nation will host a community meeting in Locust Grove on Thursday, July 11 at 6:30 at the Locust Grove Community Building, at 115 Harrison. Principal Chief Chad Smith will join local Tribal Council members Stephanie Wickliffe-Shepherd and Johnny Keener.
Smith, Wickliffe-Shepherd and Keener will speak on current events within the Cherokee Nation and take questions from tribal members.
Wickliffe-Shepherd and Keener represent District Six, which is made up of Mayes County, on the Cherokee Nation Tribal Council.
