Tahlequah, OK - The Cherokee Heritage Center announces Girl Scout Weekend. On July 25, 26 and 27, any Girl Scout wearing their uniform, T-shirt, or vest will be admitted to the drama for $5. In addition, one adult will be admitted free with every five Girl Scouts.
This moving drama, filled with music, dance, wit, and folklore, is a show for all ages. Named one of the Top 100 Events in North America by the American Bus Association, a visit to the Cherokee Heritage Center is perfect for large groups.
Before the drama, groups can take advantage of the many cultural experiences offered at the Cherokee Heritage Center like the Ancient Village, Adam’s Corner Rural Village, the Trail of Tears Exhibit and the Museum and Museum Shop.
The Ancient Village offers guided tours through a replica of a Cherokee village as it would have appeared before European contact. Adams Corner Rural Village represents the lifestyles of the Cherokee people in the late 1800’s. Through the Trail of Tears Exhibit visitors can learn about the tragic journey known as the Trail of Tears traveled by the Cherokee and four other tribes. The museum and the villages are open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mon. - Sat. and 1 to 5 p.m. on Sun.
The 'Trail of Tears Drama' will run through Labor Day weekend every Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Ticket prices are $15 for adults, $7.50 for children and students, and $13.50 for seniors.
