TAHLEQUAH, OK - The Cherokee Nation Marshal Service donated twelve patrol cars to area law enforcement agencies."Most of them didn’t even ask, but they were glad to get them", said David Roberts, Director of the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service. "We are just glad to be able to further assist the communities that work with us in law enforcement."
The agencies that received the cars were Jay Police Department, Mayes County Sheriff’s Office, Nowata County Sheriff’s Office, Locust Grove Police Department, Westville Police Department, Stilwell Police Department, Muskogee County Sheriff’s Office, and the Marble City Police Department. All the agencies receiving the vehicles are cross-deputized with the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service.
"Westville is growing and the cars will be very beneficial to the department", said David Jones, Westville Chief of Police.
Westville Police Department has used the car for investigating in a few cases and is currently being driven by the Chief.
