TAHLEQUAH, OK - The Cherokee Nation Marshal Service seized a meth lab in Adair County Wednesday evening.

Marshals found and seized finished methamphetamine products, as well as, meth in other stages of the manufacturing process.

The Marshals arrived on the premises to serve the occupants with arrest warrants from Cherokee and Adair Counties for possession of a controlled substance and failure to appear in court. The Marshals could smell meth upon arrival at the residence. After obtaining a search warrant, they entered the home to find a well established, fully operational methamphetamine laboratory. No one was home at the time, so no arrests have been made in connection with this lab or the previous arrest warrants.

The Marshals will continue to search for the suspects and charges will be filed.

"The main thing we are doing is taking meth out of an Indian communities, which is a goal set by the Chief and the Housing Authority," said David Roberts, Director of the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service.

The property was located in the Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation Cherry Tree Ducklane addition, which is 7 miles South of Stilwell in Adair County.
