Tahlequah, OK - The Cherokee Heritage Center hosts Cherokee Saturday on Saturday, March 2. Members of all federally recognized Cherokee tribes, which include the Cherokee Nation, The United Keetoowah Band and the Eastern Band of Cherokees will be admitted free to the Heritage Center. Each tribal member can bring a guest.
Attractions include the Trail of Tears Exhibit, the Ancient Village, Heritage Farms and Adams Corner Rural Village. The Cherokee Heritage Center is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 - 5 p.m.
The Cherokee Heritage Center also features the spring exhibits -- the Sam Watts-Kidd Art Show, the Cherokee Clans Exhibit and the Sequoyah Exhibit. The exhibits were made possible with assistance from the Oklahoma Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.
