Tahlequah, OK - In preparation for the upcoming Trail of Tears Drama, the Cherokee Heritage Center will hold auditions Feb. 15 and 16 from 10:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. The auditions on Friday, Feb. 15 will be held at the Tsa La Gi Amphitheater for returning cast and crew from last year. Returning cast will not be required to audition, but should show up at the Tsa La Gi box office to sign up for the 2002 season.
The auditions on Saturday, Feb. 16, will be held at the NSU Playhouse, located on the corner of Downing Street and Muskogee Avenue. The audition is for new cast members and technical crew and will be held in conjunction with NSU's auditions for their summer music shows.
Actors and singers will audition beginning at 10 a.m. and dancers will begin auditioning at 1 p.m. Actors should come with a prepared monologue which should not exceed three minutes. Singers should bring a tape and be prepared to perform one song. Dancers should bring a tape and be prepared to perform three minutes. If actors do not have a prepared monologue, they will be asked to do a selected reading. Those interested in technical positions may drop off a resume either Friday or Saturday. Potential cast members who cannot make auditions on the designated day may audition either Friday or Saturday.
"We are encouraged by the attendance and support we received last year for the drama," said Patrick Whelan, Director of the Tsa La Gi Amphitheater.
