TAHLEQUAH, OK - The Sequoyah High School Indians will move two of their basketball games to the gymnasium at Northeastern State University due to the anticipation of large crowd sizes."We do expect a full house and we have to keep our undersized gym in mind," said Tony Pivec, superintendent of Sequoyah High School.
The basketball game against the Hulbert Riders scheduled for Saturday, December 14 and the game against the Boynton Cardinals on Tuesday, December 17 will both be played at the Jack Dobbins Field House at Northeastern State University. Both games will be played at their regularly scheduled times and the gates will open one hour prior to game time.

![]() Sequoyah High School, an Indian boarding school, originated in 1871, when the Cherokee National Council passed an act setting up an orphan asylum to take care of many orphans that came out of the Civil War. Sequoyah High School's approximate 300 enrollment represents 42 tribes and 14 different states. Students are eligible to attend if they are members of federally recognized Indian tribes or one-fourth blood descendants of such members. |
