“The students have worked really hard in rehearsals and I can’t wait to see them on stage,” said Amanda Bruce, drama director for SHS. “Some of them had little or no acting experience at all, but they each have natural talent.”
The students starring in the drama are Charley Keo, Kryste Benge, Stacy Kinnaman, Rachel Chouteau, Rene Berryhill, Emagen Hunt, Brandon Johnson, Darcy MedicineHorse, Martin Wind, Lisa Chouteau, Bobbie Littlesun, Shana Autaubo, and Jeff Elizondo.
“Our Stories” consist of several different scenes dealing with a variety of subject matters including problems and fears that average American teenagers face on a daily basis. The students will perform the drama at two different shows. The first show is at 1:30 p.m. and the second show is at 7:30 p.m. Both are free to the public.
“I am confident that they will give an excellent performance,” Bruce said.
“Last spring we conducted a survey of our residential student body to see what activities they’d like to see in the fall,” said Tony Pivec, SHS superintendent. “Drama kept showing up as an activity the students wanted. So, listening to our students’ request, we found Amanda Bruce to help us fill this need. She’s doing a fantastic job. I can’t wait to see what this group has put together. I’m sure they will be great.”
