TAHLEQUAH, OK - Katherine Foreman, of Tahlequah, looks at her home and says, "It's going to make us a real good home. It's really super nice, and so roomy. It's got everything you would want in a home. The kitchen is spacious, and the master bath is large too."
"It's like a new house," Jim Foreman added, "and it's nice and spread out not so close to the other homes."
Jim and Katherine Foreman recently moved into a home renovated for them by the Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation. The Foreman family was presented with a "Welcome Home" check and gift at their home in the Park Hill Addition south of Tahlequah.
The "Welcome Home" presentation was attended by Cherokee Nation Tribal Council Member for District 1, John Ketcher, HACN board chair Mary Adair, and HACN board members William Smoke, and James Simmons. The presentation was held on December 17, at the Park Hill addition.
"I'm just real excited for the people getting these homes," said Mary Adair, HACN board chair. "It feels good to see it. When they get excited, I get excited."
"I just want to congratulate the people and I'm sure it will make them a nice home for a long time," Ketcher said.
Smoke said, "It's good to welcome the Foreman's to their new home."
"It's a good feeling to know they are so satisfied," Simmons said. "I look forward to being a part of the board."
