CATOOSA, OK - Cherokee Nation Enterprises (CNE) is announcing plans to renovate the Indian Hills Golf Course in Catoosa. CNE has retained Tripp Davis & Associates of Norman to restore a large portion of the original links while combining a few new twists to the course layout.

“Tripp Davis & Associates come to Cherokee Nation Enterprises with a wealth of knowledge and experience in remodeling and redesigning golf courses,” said David Stewart, President and CEO of CNE. “Keeping within the specs of the Perry Maxwell design, I am confident the new golf course layout will appease even the most avid golfer.”

Current plans are to restore the luster to 10 original holes, and to construct 8 new holes utilizing Perry Maxwell specifications. Also, a new clubhouse location is proposed, ultimately tying into the expansion of the Cherokee Casino and the addition of a 150-room hotel, culminating into a resort destination site in Catoosa.

The golf course officially closed for renovations on December 2. The renovated course and new clubhouse should be open to the public in the summer of 2004. CNE will offer a limited number of exclusive memberships in addition to resort and public play.

CNE is a tribally owned corporation of the Cherokee Nation. CNE employs more than 900 people in northeastern Oklahoma and operates gaming facilities in Roland, West Siloam Springs and Catoosa as well as convenience stores, smoke shops, a gift shop and a golf course.
