TAHLEQUAH, OK - The 50th Cherokee National Holiday Tennis Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1.The doubles only tournament will feature mixed, men’s, and women’s brackets. The number of entries in each bracket will be limited to 8 teams. Players must possess a Certificate Degree of Indian Blood (CDIB) card. Non-Indian spouses may play mixed doubles. There are no consolation events.

The Cherokee Nation celebrates the Cherokee National Holiday every year over Labor Day weekend. The theme of this year’s celebration is 'Building One Fire'. The annual Holiday commemorates the signing of the Cherokee Nation Constitution of September 6, 1839.
