Cherokee Nation Asks For Comments On LIHEAP App.
"Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program"

TAHLEQUAH, OK - The Cherokee Nation is currently in the process of submitting an application to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for a Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) grant.
A draft of the fiscal year 2003 LIHEAP application is available for public review. During this review process, the public is encouraged to submit either written or verbal comments about the development of the final draft of the Cherokee Nation’s LIHEAP Plan.
Copies of the draft plan will be available at the Cherokee Nation Family Assistance Department at the Cherokee Nation Tribal Complex in Tahlequah and in all Tribal Field Offices. Comments will be accepted August 21-22, 2002.
If you are unable to review the application at one of the Tribal offices may request information about the Plan by calling 918-456-0671 (ext.2346). The Cherokee Nation will accept comments over the phone.
