Tahlequah, OK - The Cherokee Heritage Center is announcing a call for entries for the 2002 Homecoming Art Show and Sale. The event is sponsored by Cherokee Casinos and the Oklahoma Arts Council. $5,000 in prize money will be awarded to the winners.

Participation in this show is limited to artists age 17 and older who have membership in a federally recognized Cherokee Tribe. Art must have been completed after October 1, 2001. An exception is made for bronze castings to allow casting no earlier than March 1, 2001. Artists may submit up to three entries per category.

Categories for the show include: Visual Arts – Paintings, Graphics, and Sculpture; Basketry; Jewelry, Metal-smithing and Beading; Pottery; Textiles; and Traditional Arts. The show will open on October 5, 2002 and will hang through December 31. All entries must be received by the Cherokee Heritage Center by 1 p.m., September 28, 2002.
