PORUM, OK - The Cherokee Heritage Pottery plant will host a grand opening ceremony this Saturday, April 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m at the new location in Porum, Oklahoma.

The ceremony will include a ribbon cutting celebration, signing of the clay tile guest book, and tours of the pottery plant. The Cherokee Heritage Pottery Plant will provide lunch free of charge and will give away door prizes to attendees.

"The mission of Cherokee Heritage Pottery is to document, teach, preserve, and produce pottery made by the Cherokee people," said Marilyn Craig, marketing director for the Cherokee Heritage Center.

The new location in Porum will have a retail shop and a vast working space for creating pottery pieces. All proceeds will go to benefit the Cherokee Heritage Center in Tahlequah. The Cherokee Heritage Center is a museum dedicated to the preservation of Cherokee history and culture.
