TAHLEQUAH, OK - The Cherokee Nation will offer several emergency medical training courses in the upcoming weeks at the Cherokee Nation Emergency Medical Services building located at 22114 South Bald Hill Road in Tahlequah. Courses, dates and times are as follows:April 10 and 24 and May 1 and 15, a one day First Aid Training course will be held beginning at 9 a.m. Course cost is $15.
April 11-12, a CPR Instructor class will be held 9 a.m.-5 p.m. both days. Course cost is $30 with textbooks at $75.
April 15 and 29 and May 13 and 20, a one day Pediatric CPR Training course will be held beginning at 9 a.m. Course cost is $13.
April 17 and 19, and May 3, 6, 15, 17 and 29, a one day CPR Training Course will be held beginning at 9 a.m. Course cost is $13.
April 25 and 26, a Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support Provider Course will be held from 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Cost is $85, plus textbook (Ask about the loan book program). Class is limited to the first 32 students.
April 24, a First Aid Training course will be held beginning at 9 a.m. Course cost is $15.
May 9 and 10, an Emergency Vehicle Operator’s course will be held from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on the 9th (Lecture) and from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on the 10th (Driving). Course cost is $35. Twelve CEU hours will be awarded by the Oklahoma State Department of Health and the Emergency Medical Services Division. This course is open only to those who currently drive an emergency response vehicle.
May 22, 23 and 24, a Swift Water Rescue Technician 1 course will be offered with the first day at the EMS building and the second two days of actual in water training. Cost for the course is $175 plus equipment, which is due prior to the beginning of class. Retrain fee is $75.
Cherokee Nation Emergency Medical Services is approved as a training agency by the Oklahoma State Health Department, Division of EMS. All courses are open to the public and will be held at the Cherokee Nation EMS building unless otherwise noted.
