TAHLEQUAH, OK - The Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation (HACN) will no longer accept applications for the Mortgage Assistance Program (MAP) and Mortgage Buy Down (MBD) effective October 24, 2001."With the success of these two mortgage programs, all of the funds have been obligated", said Ron Qualls, HACN executive director.
According to HACN, since November 1998 to date, the MAP and MBD programs have been successful with present funding in providing assistance to over 250 families allowing them to purchase homes throughout the 14-county Cherokee Nation jurisdictional boundaries.
"A public notice will be distributed when applications can be resumed based on funding allocations", Qualls said.
