TAHLEQUAH, OK - The Cherokee Nation will host its fourth annual Cultural Day for children involved in early childhood programs on October 8 at the James Danielson Children’s Village in Tahlequah.This day is set aside for the children enrolled at Cherokee Nation Head Start and Child Development centers located within the southern part of the Cherokee Nation to attend and learn more about Cherokee and native American history and culture. The centers involved in the Cultural Day activities include Webbers Falls, Okay, Brushy, Maryetta, Cherry Tree, Lost City, Lowrey, Shady Grove, the Child Development Centers in Tahlequah and Stilwell, and the Head Start and Early Head Start centers in the Children’s Village in Tahlequah.
The Cultural Day will feature a variety of activities, including blowgun, Cherokee Marbles, storytelling, Cherokee flute and more.
Cherokee Nation Early Childhood Unit staff will coordinate all the day’s activities.
