TAHLEQUAH, OK - Public Service of Oklahoma has donated laptop computers to the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service to assist in law enforcement efforts across the Cherokee Nation’s 14 county jurisdictional area.

The two computers are laptops with docking stations that convert them to desktop models when in the office. The marshals will be able to take them out into the field with them.

"When I am on a call or out serving a warrant or affidavit, I can keep track and it will automatically print stuff out", said Sergeant Garland Thompson.

"PSO always likes to cooperate with law enforcement, not just as a company, but also as people,” said Bill Kerr, a PSO representative who presented the computers to the Cherokee Nation. “The Cherokee Nation Marshal Service covers about the same territory that we do. Law enforcement is always under funded. If they are going to be able to protect the public, they need better equipment."

"We will save time and be able to perform our duties more efficiently thanks to this generous donation from PSO", Thompson said.
