Tahlequah, Oklahoma - The Cherokee Heritage Center's Pottery Division is holding a 2002 Christmas Ornament Contest. All Cherokee Artists 18 years of age or older may submit a 3 dimensional design for their 2002 Christmas Ornament which will be produced by Cherokee Heritage Pottery. The artist whose work is selected will receive a cash award in the amount of $300.00 and will be featured in Cherokee Heritage Pottery's 2002 fine art brochure.
All entries must be delivered to the Cherokee Heritage Center by 5:00 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2001. All shipped entries must be prepaid. All entries except for the winning entry may be picked up December 21, 2001. The original work must be made of clay, and submitted in moist state (no harder than leather hard). The original work should reflect some aspect of Cherokee history or culture. The original work may be flat or hollow. The ornament can be no larger than 4 x 4 x 4.
