Tahlequah, OK - Holiday cheer will abound during Christmas at Adams Corner on Saturday, Dec. 8 at the Cherokee Heritage Center. In addition to traditional Christmas music and thousands of twinkling lights, Father Christmas will be at the 6 - 9 p.m. event. Seasonal refreshments and hay rides will complement the lights-on ceremony.
Cherokee sculptor Eddie Morrison will sign the 2001 limited edition Christmas ornament produced by Cherokee Heritage Pottery. The ornament is titled "The Strength of Life."
Adams Corner Rural Village is representative of many small Cherokee communities in Indian Territory in the late 1800s. Music will be performed by the First Indian Baptist Church of Tahlequah and the Cherokee Heritage Singers, with special performances in Cherokee. The public is invited to attend this free event.
