TAHLEQUAH, OK - The Cherokee Nation wants to encourage tribal members in their efforts to start their own businesses. Working with the Oklahoma Native Business Development Center of Tulsa, the Cherokee Nation will offer a two-day seminar to future business owners on writing business proposals to obtain business funding. The seminar will be held on March 19 and 20 at 6:30 p.m. in the Cherokee Nation Tribal Council Chambers, located on Highway 62 west of Tahlequah.On March 19, there will be discussion on how to put together a business plan and the issues facing new businesses. On March 20, the program will be an extension of the discussion from the previous day.
All lending institutions require a written business proposal in applications for start-up ventures.
ONABDC and Cherokee Nation Credit and Finance representatives will be present to provide technical assistance to Native Americans interested in starting a business.
