MARBLE CITY, OK - Community members from three counties come to the Rainbow House in Marble City for donated food baskets, clothing, household items, and toys available to community members.

Cherokee Nation Deputy Chief Hastings Shade has coordinated many efforts through his office to support the Rainbow House, which serves communities like Dry Creek, Vian, Gore, Rocky Mountain, Sallisaw, Westville, Stilwell and Bell among others.
"The Marble City Rainbow House is doing great things not only for their community, but surrounding communities as well", said Evelyn Conley, community coordinator for the Deputy Chief’s office. "They should be applauded."
"I like coming in here and finding stuff for the kids." said Sherry Christie, a Marble City mother of five.
The Rainbow House is a non-profit organization staffed by volunteers and supported by donations. The Marble City Rainbow House is open only on Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Food donations have come from Ms. Smith’s, Tyson, Henningson Cold Storage and numerous others.
The Rainbow House in Marble City is a sister organization to the Rainbow House in Locust Grove, which is organized and run by the Cherokee Elders Council of Pryor.
