TAHLEQUAH, OK - Commodity foods from the Cherokee Nation Food Distribution Program will be distributed to eligible applicants in the tribe’s 14 county service area at various sites during February.The Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations, which funds the Cherokee Nation Food Distribution Program, is a program specifically intended to serve tribal populations. Therefore, the primary requirement for program eligibility is that an applicant must meet the definition of a tribal household.
To receive commodity foods, a member of a household must have a Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood (CDIB) card. Also required are Social Security cards or birth certificates for each household member, income verification for each employed household member and verification of residence, such as phone or utility bills showing applicant’s name and address.
The Jay, Salina, Stilwell and Tahlequah Food Outlets are open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday except for the last three working days of the month and holidays. All Tribal Food Distribution Field sites will be closed February 19, for President’s Day. Food will be distributed at the following times and sites:

Salina Food Outlet-900 Owen Walters Blvd., Salina, OK, (918) 434-8401 Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m, closed Friday February 9.
