McAlester, OK - The Chickasaw Nation will host the fifth annual Economic Development Conference on Indian Tourism, sponsored by the Five Civilized Tribes Tourism and Marketing Association, Feb. 28-March 2. The conference will held at the Ramada Inn in McAlester, Oklahoma. and focus on the importance of the tourism industry to the economy of Oklahoma and to the Indian Tribes of Oklahoma.Special guests will include the Chiefs of the Five Civilized Tribes, Lieutenant Governor Mary Fallin, Senator Gene Stipe, Jane Jayroe, Cabinet Secretary Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation and Barbara Warner, Executive Director of Oklahoma Indian Affairs Commission.
Conference topics will include: identifying your tribal tourism product, identifying your market, media relations, funding tourism, customer relations, the internet and much more.
Conference registration for two days is $125.00 and for students is $30.00. One-day conference registration is $75.00 and for students is $15.00. Booth space will be available $100.00 commercial/government organizations and $50.00 for individual/small businesses.
