TAHLEQUAH, OK - The Cherokee Nation, Oklahoma, Cultural Resource Center will be offering Cherokee Language classes in ten locations in northeastern Oklahoma this spring. The classes are open to anyone interested in learning to read, write and speak the Cherokee language."The Cherokee Language Classes get the community together to renew friendships while learning the Cherokee language", said Sammy Still, Cherokee Nation Community Involvement Specialist. "Learning the Cherokee language gives individuals the opportunity to teach the Cherokee language to their children."
Cherokee Nation's Language classes will last 10-weeks and will be held one night per week. All teaching materials and classes are free to the public.
Cherokee Nation Cultural Resource Center will hold Cherokee Language Classes at the following locations:
