TAHLEQUAH, OK - The Cherokee Nation held a one-day conference for more than 200 childcare providers at the Cherokee Nation Complex and Tsa La Gi Annex in Tahlequah.The theme of the conference was 'Child Care: "Getting Wild In The Tropics." John Irving, known for "Hilarity Therapy", was the keynote speaker. Stephen Fite from Melody House offered music and movement fun for all ages. Other classes consisted of topics such as Cooking with Kids, Taxes and Child Care, Child Nutrition, Cherokee Culture, Child Development and many more. The Cherokee Nation Child Care Resource hopes to make this a yearly event to help in their dedication to improving the quality of childcare for all children.
